THE Ekiti State governor-elect, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has been described as a pride and a true symbol of what Ekiti stands for in term of academic excellence, admnistrative accumen and track record of performances.
Fayemi, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the just concluded July 14 gubernatorial election in Ekiti State, was declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), having polled a total of 197,459 against his closest rival, Professor Kolapo Olusola of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who polled 178,115.
The Lawmaker representing Ekiti Central Senatorial district at the upper chamber of the National Assembly, Senator Fatima Raji Rasaki, who said this in a congratulatory message to Dr. Fayemi and the APC, added that Fayemi’s Victory at poll was the begining of restoration of values and dignity of the state. Senator Rasaki described Dr. Fayemi is
She then commended the Ekiti people for rejecting the evil arrangements of the Ayo Fayose led-Peoplesaid Democratic Party (PDP) which, according to her, has been impoverishing the people and insulting their sensibility wit has the crumbs which he termed stomach infrastructure.
Rasaki said further that “Most of us left the PDP because Fayose is already changing the status of our state from the fountain of knowledge to citadel of fools, a state where mediocrity reigns supreme and we can no longer tolerate that.
“Fayose and his cohorts are not only a threat to the growth of Ekiti State, they are misnormer in government because they think governance is all about blabbing, making noise and stealing public funds.”
While admonishing the governor-elect to consider his victory as an avenue to right the wrongs and change the negative impressions about the state, caused by Fayose’s maladmnistration, Senator Rasaki urged him to set a new record that will promote integrity, unity and development of the state.
She however, congratulated President Muhamadu Buhari, leaders and members of the APC for their efforts in returning the state into the progressive folds.
