Britain’s Got Talent returned for its 16th season on Saturday, where Ugandan dance group, Ghetto Kids secured the coveted Golden Buzzer.

Britain’s Got Talent is a televised talent competition in the United Kingdom where individuals or groups showcase their talents in various categories such as singing, dancing, magic, comedy, and more. If an act is awarded the Golden Buzzer at the end of their audition, it grants them a place in one of the live semi-finals of the show, skipping past the boot camp stage of the competition.

Italian judge Bruno Tonioli hit the Golden Buzzer midway through the Ghetto Kids’ performance.

“I’ve got to do it now,” Tonioli said before hitting the buzzer. “I was exploding. You should be proud of yourselves; I can’t wait to see you back.”

The children, who are aged five to 13, performed an energetic routine to a variety of songs, which delighted the crowd so much that Tonioli couldn’t wait until the end of their audition—something never done before on the show.

The Ghetto Kids have gained international attention for their dancing skills and have performed for various audiences, including alongside singer Eddy Kenzo and American rapper French Montana. They have also used their platform to raise awareness about poverty and the challenges faced by children living in slums.

They have also performed at numerous events around the world, including the BET Awards and the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards.

The Ghetto Kids

Ghetto Kids, formerly Triplets Ghetto Kids, is a dance/music group founded in 2014 by Daouda Kavuma and composed of children from the Katwe slums in Kampala, Uganda.

They have appeared on major platforms across the world, featuring in French Montana’s “Unforgettable” video and performing at a World Cup 2022 event in Qatar.

In 2014, a video of Alex, Fred, Bachir, Patricia, and Isaac dancing to Eddy Kenzo’s “Sitya Loss” music went viral, accumulating over 8 million views on YouTube and other social networks. Kenzo later stated, “I did not know about this clip until a friend told me about it.“ He later asked them to collaborate on the song’s official video, released in September of that same year, marking the beginning of the Ghetto Kids. This allowed them to return to school and allowed founder Daouda Kavuma to buy equipment to develop the group. He composed and produced several pieces of music for the group that toured Africa and the UK in the following months.

On November 30, 2015, 14-year-old Alex died as a result of a bicycle accident. Despite their loss, the Ghetto Kids have continued their performances, touring throughout Africa and beyond. The group has provoked the admiration of American artists P. Diddy and Nicki Minaj, and in 2017, the group featured in the clip of French Montana’s Unforgettable, launching their success in the United States.

In January 2023, the Ghetto Kids travelled to France to perform at halftime during football club Paris Saint-Germain’s home game against Reims at the Parc des Princes. They also met PSG players such as Kylian Mbappé before the match.

In April 2023, Ghetto Kids appeared on Britain’s Got Talent, where new judge Bruno Tonioli gave them the golden buzzer.

A woman must be a governor for the first time in Nigeria;at least for a change.

What did Gov Fintiri do in 4 years that brought him at per with a first-time contestant, if not bad governance.

So let’s just try a woman.Fintiri and his cohorts must not kill a retired vice Chancellor to return as a governor, pls?
