Comrade Sikiru Bayo Titilola-Sodo has resigned from his appointment as the Special Adviser on Labour Matters to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde to pursue his governorship aspiration after the 2027 gubernatorial election.
This strategic exit allows the veteran politician to focus entirely on his ambition to succeed his current boss in the upcoming general elections.
A statement released by his media team on Monday confirmed that the former Oyo State labour union leader chose to step down to preserve public integrity. According to the campaign council, the decision reflects his deep commitment to the principles of transparency, accountability, and democratic participation.
By leaving the Seyi Makinde administration now, Titilola-Sodo intends to dedicate his full energy to building a grassroots movement across the length and breadth of Oyo State.

Comrade Titilola-Sodo noted that his extensive career in public service and labour leadership has adequately prepared him for the enormous responsibility of leading Oyo State. His experience spans service as a Principal Officer in the Local Government Service of Oyo State, where he traversed the various zones of the State, President of the Oyo State chapter of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), State Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Permanent Secretary, and Special Adviser on Labour Matters.
According to him, these experiences have equipped him with the administrative competence, leadership capacity, and people-oriented approach necessary to drive sustainable development and inclusive governance.
He further emphasised that Oyo State possesses immense economic and human potential to rival leading states in Nigeria in terms of infrastructure, industrialisation, education, agriculture, healthcare, and job creation.

Later, he rose to become the President of the Oyo State chapter of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) and, subsequently, the State Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).
