The Chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Service Commission, Bashorun Akinwale Solomon Akinwole (Wolekanle) has declared that a Seyi Makinde 2027 presidency is the key to restoring public trust and ensuring good governance in Nigeria.
Speaking in Ibadan, Wolekanle threw his weight behind the Governor’s bid for the 2027 general election.
He described the Oyo State Governor as a visionary figure who possesses the executive capacity required to address the Nigeria’s current challenges and move the country forward.
National Repositioning and the 2027 General Election
Akinwole’s endorsement follows Governor Makinde’s declaration for the 2027 Presidential ambition in the PDP-APM alliance in the upcoming general elections.
The Oyo State Local Government Service Commission chairman argued that the Governor’s specific leadership style and track record distinguish him as a credible candidate for the Seyi Makinde 2027 presidency.
According to Bashorun Akinwole, the Governor has demonstrated a “result-oriented” approach that is now needed at the federal level to take Nigeria to greater heights.
“The Makinde administration has continued to demonstrate competence, transparency and people-oriented governance, earning the governor admiration across political, ethnic and regional divides,” Akinwole stated.
He noted that such qualities are essential as the country prepares for the Nigeria 2027 general election, where voters will be seeking candidates with proven administrative success.
Assessing Oyo State Governor Achievements
The push for a Makinde candidacy is largely built upon the documented Oyo State Governor achievements over the last several years. Akinwole pointed to the Governor’s commitment to infrastructural development and economic growth as a blueprint for national recovery.
Wolekanle suggested that the same “Oyo Model” of transparency could be used to reposition the entire federation if Makinde is given the opportunity to lead.
Beyond infrastructure, the Chairman emphasised that the Seyi Makinde 2027 presidency would focus on institutional reforms.
He noted that the governor’s vision for national development, coupled with his commitment to infrastructural development, economic growth and good governance, would help reposition Nigeria if given the opportunity to lead the country.
A Call for Unity and Good Governance in Nigeria
As political alignments begin to shift, Akinwole stressed that the Nigerian public is currently “yearning for purposeful leadership” and a government they can actually trust. He maintained that Makinde possesses the specific qualities required to restore that missing confidence in the nation’s governance.
To achieve this, Akinwole urged members of the political class to look beyond narrow interests.
Wolekanle called on Nigerians, especially stakeholders within the opposition political parties, to unite and support Makinde’s presidential bid in the interest of national progress and sustainable development.
