At eight years old, Adhara Perez Sánchez, from Mexico, was discovered to have a staggering IQ of 162—reportedly higher than that of geniuses. Hawking and Einstein had an estimated IQ of 160.

Adhara, now 12 years old, has set her sights on colonising Mars.

From age three, she learned to read, assembled 100-piece puzzles, and studied algebra. She is already pursuing two degrees in her native Mexico, one in systems engineering and the other in industrial engineering, focusing on mathematics.

Adhara Perez, who was diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome, lives in the slums of Tlahuac, Mexico.

The developmental disorder makes it difficult for her to have non-verbal communication or social interactions.

As a result, she developed severe depression and did not want to go to school anymore.

Adhara was bullied by her peers at school, who branded her a “weirdo” or “oddball,” NBC San Diego reports.

According to her mother, Nallely Sanchez, “I saw that she was playing in a little house with her friends, and they locked her up. And they started calling her names like ‘Oddball, weirdo!’, then they started hitting the little house. So, I said, “I don’t want my daughter to suffer.”

Adhara’s mother took her to therapy at the Talent Care Centre, where her extraordinary IQ was identified.

Defeating all odds, she finished her schooling when she was able to finish elementary, middle, and high school when she was just eight years old.

She pursued degrees for two online courses and wrote a book called ‘Do Not Give Up.’

Now, Adhara is building a smart bracelet to monitor the emotions of differently abled children. The bracelet can also prevent seizures and other outbursts.

She has set her sights on becoming an astronaut, travelling to space, and even colonising the Red Planet.

The little girl often enjoyed studying the periodic table at home to pass the time. So, her mother, Nallely Sánchez, sought help for a different education plan after she said she no longer wanted to go to school.

Adhara Perez has also been featured in Forbes Mexico’s 100 ‘Most Powerful Women in Mexico’ list.
