Hannah Ann Enyan, a former Labone Senior High School student, is the youngest chartered accountant in Ghana at 18.
She was one of Ghana’s Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAG) graduating class in 2021.
The ceremony was held at the University of Professional Studies’ 36th graduation ceremony.
Additionally, it provided the framework for awarding certificates to those who passed all three levels of the Chartered Accountants (CA) Professional Exams and codified the admission of new members into the Institute.
Other people who met the standards based on an evaluation of their training at comparable professional accounting bodies also received awards.
A total of 425 qualified accountants and 105 Chartered Diplomas were awarded, and the Institute welcomed 421 new members.
Miss Enyan, a native of Winneba, attributed her success to God’s favour, the institute’s management and lecturers, and her family.
The youngest chartered accountant, Mr Samuel Nii Sampah, the finance officer of the construction company Queiroz Galvao Group, motivated her to focus on and dedicate herself to the programme. This motivated her to persevere and be tenacious in finishing the course.
Ms Mmabila Deborah Azika, a University of Cape Coast alumna, was selected as the institute’s overall best level-three applicant.
Professor Williams Atuilik, the Institute’s president, reminded the new members and graduates that honesty is fundamental to the accounting profession’s success.
He remarked, “We anticipate that, as qualified special accountants from the Institute, you will broaden your horizons by viewing other incidental disciplines essential to helping you become competent accountants.”
