A prominent cleric from the Benin Republic, Prophet Ayodele Omoniyi, has weighed in on the current state of the nation, assuring on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu 2027 second term.

While acknowledging the frustrations felt by many, he suggested that the path forward requires a shift in public perception rather than mere criticism of the leadership.

Addressing the Roots of National Challenges

Prophet Omoniyi in an exclusive interview with REPORTERS AT LARGE argued that the primary obstacles facing the nation are not found at the very top of the government. Instead, he pointed toward the representatives operating within the current system.

According to the prophet, “Tinubu has good intentions to please the masses, but there are forces fighting against the foster of unity and progress in the country.”

The cleric contended that the executive branch often faces internal friction. He suggests that those tasked with implementing policies may sometimes deviate from the president’s intended goals. He encouraged Nigerians to look beyond the presidency when evaluating the effectiveness of state functions.

The Reality of Policy and Subsidy Removal

Converning the controversial economic impact of subsidy removal on Nigerians, Prophet Ayodele Omoniyi maintained that the decision was intended to benefit the nation’s long-term health. However, he acknowledged that the execution has been far from perfect.

“When the subsidy was removed, it was for our own good, but some people had looked into it and messed up the subsidy to feed themselves,” he noted.

A Plea for Mindset Change

Prophet Omoniyi urged Nigerians to move beyond the culture of blame that currently dominates the political discourse. He argued that the nation’s problems cannot be solved simply by attacking the president, as the core issues require a change in how Nigerians approach civic life.

“Nigeria can never change until we change our mindset,” the cleric warned.

Regarding the constant criticism directed at the President, he said: “Tinubu has no problem. Stop blaming the president.”

Looking Toward 2027

About the upcoming 2027 general elections, Prophet Ayodele Omoniyi gave a definitive forecast for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). He stated, “President Tinubu will emerge in the next election as the president of Nigeria for the second term.”

In addition to his political forecast, Prophet praised Seyi Tinubu’s personal involvement in national issues, his love and attention toward Nigerians and his contributions to the nation.
