A woman, whose identity has not yet been disclosed, was found dead at the weekend in a hotel in Nyiman layout of Makurdi metropolis in Benue State.
The police told our correspondent in Makurdi on Monday that three people had been arrested in connection with the matter.
REPORTERS AT LARGE earlier gathered from reliable sources that the woman was a victim of internet fraudsters popularly known as Yahoo Yahoo boys, adding that her sexual organs were removed.
But the police spokesperson in the state, Catherine Anene, who confirmed the incident, debunked the allegation of missing organs, noting that the body was found without any mark on it.
Anene said, “There is a death report of a lady in a hotel, but details will come from the medical doctors. Though we didn’t see marks of violence so the autopsy will reveal the cause of the death.
“Three suspects were arrested in connection with the case, so they will give us details. We can’t say it is a case of murder yet.”
