THE Resident Electoral Commissioner in Oyo State, Barrister Mutiu Agboke, has revealed the efforts of some politicians in the state to buy PVC to ensure their success at the poll in the 2019 general elections.
He made the revelation on Thursday, in his goodwill message at the 2018 lecture of the Online Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria (OMPAN), Oyo State Chapter, held at Dapo Aderogba Hall of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ibadan.
“I got a security report that some politicians wanted to buy PVC to ensure their success at the poll in the 2019 elections. I’ve told them to come to tell us their stronghold, then we’d take the PVC their for distribution, but none of them has shown up,” he said.
Agboke then assured Nigerians that officials of the Commission would not sell PVC or compromised the process of election for any politician in the 2019 general elections in the state.
He charged the online journalists to get their facts correctly, adding that he had nothing to hide in Oyo State.
