The Adeline event hall of Lead City University, Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State was filled to the brim on Saturday, November 13, 2021, for the wedding of the daughter of Amb. Wale Ojo-Lanre, the Senior Special Assistant to the Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi.

The glamorous event has been described as one of the best in Nigeria going by the personalities involved, packaging, organisation and attendance.

The couple is products of two great families, the Ojo-Lanre of Usi Ekiti, Ekiti State and the Olusoga of Ijebu Igbo, Ogun State. The parents are based in Ibadan as the father of the bride is an accomplished and outstanding journalist with the Nigerian Tribune, while the mother of the groom, Alhaja Monsurat is a successful sugar merchant in the Bodija market Ibadan.

Ambassador Ojo-Lanre gave out the hand of his daughter, Tioluwani, a former SUG vice president Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta (FUNAB), Ogun State, in marriage to her heartrob, Olusola Olusoga.

It was a day affair with Prof Modupe Adelabu, former Deputy Governor, Ekiti State, who was the special guest at the introduction and engagement ceremony with Hon Wasiu Olatunbosun, Oyo Commissioner for Information, Art. Culture and Tourism.

The Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Babatunde Ogunsusi’s representative, HRH Oba Adekunle Adebowale Agbolu of Agbaje-Ife, was at Adeline Hall, for the introduction, engagement and Church service, as well as the Olori Oba Adekunle, the Alakola of Akola Ijesha and the Maiyegun of Akola were present at 11 am. Eminent personalities who were early callers were, Prof Modupe Adelabu, former Deputy Governor, Ekiti State, Prof Akin Alao, OAU, Ife, Prof Tunde Omojola, UI, AIG Tunji Alapini, Rtd, Engineer Tunde Lawal, President, Brail Construction Company, Adekunle Busari, Founder, Euro Lounge and Suites, Ibadan, Otunba Ayo Olumoko, CEO, Infogem, Hon Gbenga Agbeyo, Special Adviser to Governor Fayemi, Hon Babatunde Fawekun, Hon Member, Ekiti State , House of Assembly, Prince Niyi Babade CNN; Victor Ayeomotoro, PR Manager, Oodua Conglomerate; Mr Wasiu Abiola, NBL; Hon Diran Odeyemi; Dr Sola Ojo, Tetfund; Yinka Amole, CEO, Amole Constructions; Gboyega Oluwasanmi, CEO, Araromi Farms; Chief Mrs Bunmi Adesanya, Iyaloja of Adelabu Market, Ibadan; Duchess Funmi Rotiba, CEO, Special Tours; Barrister Tunde Adeoye.

Others were: Dr Lasisi Olagunju, Editor, Saturday Tribune; Pastor Segun Olatunji, Chief Consultant, ANN Plc; Prince Shina Hastrup, Canada-based Nigerian global actress; Olori Adefumilayo Adenekan; Chief Mrs Gbenga Babalola; Adedayo Ojewale; Barrister Dipo Kupoluyi; Chief Sesan Abeleje, Alloy Production; De-Link Club, Usi-Ekiti, Ekiti State; Oyo State NUJ delegation, led by Comrade Ademola Babalola; Fidelia Salami, Chairperson, Delta State Tourism Board; Efetobo Ahwanha, CEO, Travel Week; Ayo Omotoso, President Travelogue; South-West, NTDC delegation, led by Rotimi Aiyetan; Hon Wole Oladimeji, ex-CPS to the former Deputy Speaker, House of Rep.

Rt Hon Adetunji Orisalade, former Deputy Speaker, Ekiti State House of Assembly, Hon Bayo Aina, former Commissioner of Finance, Ekiti. State, Moyo Aina, Susan Aina, Pitan Aina, Tunde Dada, Tunde Aina, Dr Rahman Olusegun Mimiko, the former Governor of Ondo state, fought the terrible traffic rage on Lagos – Ibadan Expressway to attend at 2 pm and left at 6 pm.

Senator Tesleem Kola Folarin attended with a large delegation being a personal friend of the Ojo-Lanre’s and the Olusoga.

Also at the historic and glamorous event were, Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Adams; Iyalaje Oodua, Princess Toyin Kolade; a former AIG, Tunji Alapinin and Prince Diran Odeyemi, and other dignitaries stormed the wedding which was held at Adeline event hall Lead City University, Ibadan.

Others were a former DG Centre for Black and African Arts and Civilization (CBAAC), Professor Akin Alao; members of the Oyo State Chapter of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), led by the Chairman, Comrade Demola Babalola; ANJET President, Omololu Olumuyiwa.

Alhaja Monsurat, mother of the bridegroom who is a big-time player in the sugar market in Bodija market, Ibadan also pulled her friends in high places, all making the wedding ceremony one of the best in Nigeria in recent time.

A cross-personalities interview conducted by our reporter revealed that the wedding ceremony attracted such mighty men and women of honour because the two families are paragons of integrity, reliability and dignity.

The venue was decorated and beautified by the master in the art of adding glamour to the event venue – The House of Dexterity while Temabod Catering Service owned by Temidayo Aboderni, handled the culinary aspect. On the bandstand was David Ayinde, yet another K1’s disciple in action here. David Ayinde, an Ibadan-based K1 disciple was in action, electrifying the atmosphere with K1’s sub-genre music while Tayo Conga band thrilled the guest to a wonderful performance.
