One of the leading aspirants for the House of Representatives election in Ibadan South East and North East Federal constituency, Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige has said that he withdrew from the race as a result of the great respect he has for party supremacy and leaders of the party in the state.

Hon. Ige stated this while congratulating the winner of the election, Hon. Abass Adigun Agboworin who is the incumbent representative member at the green chamber under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

He said that as a frontline aspirant who had embarked upon wide consultations and mobilization towards clinching the party ticket for the said federal constituency, he has to abide by the decision of the party and leaders especially the Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde, Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja and Chief Bayo Lawal who had prevailed on him and others to allow the incumbent to contest again so as to be able to facilitate more developmental projects from the national level to the state if he wins as a second term lawmaker in the national assembly.

Hon. Ademola Ige said that in order to demonstrate his commitment to the emergence of Hon. Agboworin, he has directed all his followers and supporters in the Ibadan South East and Ibadan North East Federal constituency to join in the campaign train of Hon. Agboworin towards ensuring his success at the 2023 general elections.

He commended the leaders of the party in the said federal constituency especially Ambassador Arapaja, Chief Bayo Lawal, Hon. Dare Adeleke and others for the orderly and peaceful manner at which the primary election was conducted.

Agboworin at the primary election to sheath their sword in the spirit of sportsmanship and see the development as an act of God which beyond the control of any individual, adding that they should all come together for the victory of all the party’s candidates including the second term bid of Engr Seyi Makinde.

Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige who was a two term Chairman of Ibadan South East Local Government, former Minority leader in the 8th Oyo State House of Assembly, former Senior Special Assistant to former Governor Akala and now Special Adviser to Governor Seyi Makinde on Culture and Tourism and equally holds the title as the Baameto Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, however, enjoined the winner, Hon.
