All roads that led to the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Press Centre, Iyaganku GRA, Ibadan, were jam packed when business stakeholders, creme de la creme in the society, Orita Mefa Baptist Church, students, heavy and mighty in the political circle and host of others gathered together on Thursday, 28th December, 2023, to celebrate with an Ibadan-based online and print magazine, Pacesetter News owned by the number one journalist in Oyo State, Chief Ademola Babalola, as he celebrated the 2023 Year Anniversary with a lecture titled, the Role of OYOSUBEB in the Educational Development of Pacesetter State Under GSM Omituntun Administration’ and Awards Ceremony.
The event kick-started at exactly 1.00pm with the opening prayer said by the Secretary, Oyo NUJ, Comrade Sola Oladapo after which the Master of Ceremony and Vice Chairman of Oyo NUJ, Seye Ojo introduced the dignitaries present at the occasion.
The welcome address was delivered by the Chairman/Editor in Chief Pacesetter Online and Print Magazine, who also doubles as the Oyo NUJ Chairman, Ademola Babalola.
In his welcome address, Babalola recognized all the dignitaries present at the occasion and thanked all the people that have been supporting them so far and most especially, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, for his restless efforts in supporting the Pacesetter Online and Print Magazine.
He also lauded the Founder, Omituntun Benedict Forum (OBF), Chief Benedict Akika; Dr. Nureni Adeniran, and many others for their contributions to humanity.
Adeniran, who is the Executive Chairman, Oyo SUBEB, while delivering the keynote address, commended the foresightedness and sense of purpose of the publishers of Pacesetter News and Magazine for the gathering, stating that education no doubt is a legacy that every generation can bequeath into the younger generation.
He added that the present administration has provided all necessary support for the basic education sub – sector by recording unprecedented achievements under Omituntun 1.0 that cuts across areas such as capacity building, empowerment, service delivery, provision of phycho – socio support for the less privileged class, mass reduction of out of school- children and promotion of child friendly learning environment.
When it was time for the unveiling of the magazine, some of the important dignitaries came out and held the magazine each to take photographs followed by the presentation of awards to some of the dignitaries which was coordinated by Seye Ojo.
Speaking during an interview with Apreel1 Events TV, Senator Sharafadeen Alli and some of the awardees lauded the organizers and the management of Pacesetter Online and Print Magazine, for the laudable performance and their projections in the coming new year 2024.
The Chairman/ Editor in Chief, Pacesetter Online and Print Magazine, Com. Demola Babalola then thanked all the dignitaries present at the occasion most especially the awardees.
