The former President of the United States, Donald Trump, has disclosed that his administration would partner with the Governor of Texas, Greg Abbott, if elected, to stop the invasion of illegal migrants from other border states.
He said the proposed move would make him launch the largest domestic deportation operation in US history.
Trump revealed this in a statement posted on his Facebook page on Friday, adding that those his successor, President Joe Biden, allowed into the country should not get comfortable because they would be sent packing.
The Republican politician is currently gunning for the US president for the second time against Biden, who defeated him four years ago, amongst other political rivals.
Trump claimed that Biden is aiding millions of illegal migrants into the country.
He also claimed that Biden is fighting to work against Abbott and the State of Texas to aid the continuous influx of illegal migrants.
The former president noted that in the face of this National Security, Public Safety, and Public Health catastrophe, Texas has rightly invoked the Invasion Clause of the Constitution and must be given full support to repel the invasion.
The statement read, “When I became President, on Day One, instead of fighting Texas, I will work hand in hand with Governor Abbott and other border states to stop the invasion, seal the border, and rapidly begin the largest domestic deportation operation in history. Those Biden has let in should not get comfortable because they will go home.
“When I was president, we had the most secure border in history. Joe Biden has surrendered our border and is aiding and abetting a massive invasion of millions of illegal migrants into the United States.
“We encourage all willing states to deploy their guards to Texas to prevent the entry of illegals and to remove them back across the border.
“All Americans should support the commonsense measures by Texas authorities to protect the safety, security, and sovereignty of Texas, and of, the American people.”
When he was president, Trump ordered a travel ban on citizens from several Muslim-majority countries, diverted military funding toward building a wall on the US-Mexico border, and implemented a policy of family separations for migrants detained at the U.S. border.
Trump is the only American president to have been impeached twice.
He was impeached by the House of Representatives for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress and was acquitted by the Senate in February 2020.
The House impeached him again in January 2021 for incitement to insurrection, and the Senate acquitted him in February.
