A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Engineer Oyedele Hakeem Alao (aka Allow Alao), has felicitated with Christians in the state.
The APC chieftain specially felicitated the state Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde and all Christian leaders in the state join the Christian community all over the world to celebrate the commemoration of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Alao, in a statement he signed, charged the Christian faithful to imbibe the virtues of tolerance, sacrifice and love as exemplified by Jesus Christ.
According to him, it is important for them to use the period to seek the face of God and work towards a peaceful and progressive state. The season calls for reflection on Christ’s sacrifices and the new life that His resurrection represents.
He said, “I want to sincerely congratulate the Christian faithful in our dear state particularly Governor Makinde and all Christian leaders, for witnessing another celebration of Easter. I believe that the Christian faithful will not forget the essence of the season which is to love one another, so they must put aside their differences and come together in unity, just as Christ’s resurrection brought together people from all walks of life.
“They must continue to seek the face of God and work together towards building a society where peace, unity, and progress thrive. Thus we all owe it a duty to continue demonstrating love and kindness towards one another.”
While wishing the good people of the pace setter state a spiritually rewarding Easter celebration, the Asiwaju of Irokoland however urged them to intensify prayers for the success of the administrations of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Makinde.
There is no doubt that the country and the state presently are facing challenges, however with the support and prayer of all most especially during this season, we would undoubtedly overcome,” Alao stated.
