The House of Representatives has announced the passing of Honourable. (Prince) Olaide Akinremi, also known as Jagaban.

Akinremi, who represented Ibadan North Federal Constituency under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was aged 51.

A statement signed by House Spokesman Chairman, House Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Rep. Akin Rotimi, Jr., on Wednesday, said Akinremi died after a brief illness.

Hon. Akinremi who served as Chairman of the House Committee on Science Research Institutions, passed away on Wednesday morning.

The statement said, “Until his demise, the Oyo legislator was a dedicated public servant known for his unwavering commitment to the development of his constituency and the country at large. His passion for service, coupled with his deep understanding of the needs and aspirations of his people, earned him the endearing title of ‘Jagaban.’

Senator Sharafadeen Alli (APC-Oyo South) expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Rep. Akinremi.

In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Akeem Abas, and made available to newsmen on Wednesday in Ibadan, Senator Alli described the death of Akinremi as a significant loss to the nation, family, APC, friends and the entire political landscape of Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole.

Alli lauded Akinremi’s dedication to public service, commitment to the welfare of his constituents, and tireless efforts in representing Ibadan North federal constituency.

“Rep. Musiliu Olaide Akinremi was a beacon of hope and a pillar of strength for many.

“His passion for improving the lives of those he served was evident in his numerous initiatives and projects aimed at fostering development and uplifting the underprivileged.

“His demise is a great loss that leaves a void in our hearts and in the annals of our political history.”

The lawmaker extended heartfelt condolences to Akinremi’s family, Federal House of Representatives, National Assembly, APC friends, and the people of Ibadan North local government.

He urged them to find solace in the remarkable legacy of service and integrity the late lawmaker left behind.

“In this time of grief, may we draw strength from his exemplary life and continue to uphold the values he stood for,” he added.

Akinremi’s Death A Great Loss To NASS, Oyo People – Odidiomo

Meanwhile, the federal lawmaker representing Ibadan North West/Ibadan South West federal constituency of Oyo state, Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Olajide (Odidiomo) expressed deep sorrow over the passing of his colleague, Hon. Olaide Akinremi (Jagaban).

In a statement issued by Tolu Mustapha, Special Adviser, Media, and Public Affairs to Hon. Olajide, the federal lawmaker, described the late Jagaban as a dedicated and hardworking lawmaker who contributed significantly to the development of the country.

According to Olajide, “I am deeply saddened by the news of Hon. Akinremi Jagaban’s passing.

“He was a brother and colleague who showed great commitment to our nation’s progress.

His demise is a great loss to the National Assembly and the people of Oyo State.”

Odidiomo extended his condolences to the friends’ family and political associates of the deceased and prayed for the repose of his soul.

“Hon. Jagaban will be greatly missed, but his legacy will live on in our hearts and in the lives of those he touched.

May Almighty God grant him eternal rest and comfort his family during this difficult time,” Odidiomo added.
