Tragedy In Ibadan As Road Accident Claim Over 10 Lives

Over 10 lives are believed to have been lost in a Tuesday morning Lagos-Ibadan Expressway accident around Soka Area of Ibadan.

The road mishap involved three Nissan Micra taxi cabs and three articulated vehicles popularly called ‘trailer’.

It was reported that all the ill-fated vehicles were coming from Iwo Road axis of the capital city of Oyo State before getting involved in the accident. Mutilated bodies of victims were still being pulled out of the wreckages as at the time of filling this report.

The accident reportedly occurred at 7.50am.

The state Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Rosemary Alo, confirmed the accident.

She said, “The accident involved seven vehicles. Four were killed while one is currently receiving treatment at the hospital.”

She also urged the drivers to always take precautions while driving on the road.

“The injured victims were rescued by Sanyo Police Station while the corpses were deposited at Adeoyo morgue, Ring Road, Ibadan, while other victims didn’t sustain injury and found their way to their destinations.

“Meanwhile, Sanyo Police DTO Oluwole Adesina take charge of the accidented vehicle, while one of the corpses was handed over to the relative with the express permission of the Sanyo Division Police Officer,” the sector commander confirmed.
