Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Stanley Olajide has emerged as the Allied Peoples Movement‘s (APM) candidate for the Oyo South Senatorial District election in the upcoming 2027 general election.

The emergence of Hon. Olajide, who currently serves as the federal lawmaker for the Ibadan North-west/Ibadan South-west constituency, followed the party’s primary election and affirmation exercise conducted across the nine local government areas of the senatorial district.

The exercise, which was monitored by the electoral regulatory body INEC, party officials and delegates, was described as peaceful, transparent and orderly, reflecting the growing unity and internal cohesion within the party ahead of the forthcoming elections.

Consensus Drives Allied Peoples Movement Primary

The successful Adedeji Dhikrullahi Stanley Olajide nomination came after an internal consensus process that united various factions within the political party. Rather than facing a divisive internal battle, the party chose a path of collaboration. This joint agreement by the political leaders directly led to an affirmation exercise conducted across all nine local government areas that make up the southern district.

Olajide’s nomination was subsequently affirmed by the nine local government chairmen of the Allied Peoples’ Movement in Oyo south senatorial district in the presence of party executives, stakeholders and supporters.

Following the initial consensus meetings, the nine local government chairmen of the party formally validated the decision. The event took place in front of a large crowd of party executives, local stakeholders, and enthusiastic community supporters.

Observers described the day as peaceful, orderly, and highly transparent. Many party delegates expressed relief that the event concluded without legal disputes or arguments. This structural harmony could give the organisation a distinct advantage as the broader Oyo South senatorial district election campaign begins to intensify.

Vision For The Oyo State 2027 General Election

Speaking to journalists immediately after the vote, Olajide thanked the leadership and the public for their trust. He stated that the victory was not a personal win but a shared duty to bring better governance to the area.

He promised to run an inclusive campaign that listens to the needs of every community member.

“This is not about personal ambition alone. It is about the collective aspirations of our people and the desire to bring quality representation, grassroots development and progressive leadership across Oyo south senatorial district,” he stated.

The lawmaker argued that his years at the House of Representatives have provided him with the legislative exposure, grassroots connection and governance experience required to effectively represent the interests of Oyo south at the Red Chamber of the National Assembly.

Key Focus Areas Fo Oyo South Senatorial District Election

Hon. Olajide shared the main pillars of his legislative plans for the future. He pledged to protect local interests and expand social programmes that help ordinary citizens. The candidate listed several areas as his main goals, including:

  • Comprehensive youth empowerment schemes
  • Modern digital economy initiatives
  • Direct educational support for students
  • Local infrastructure projects

The lawmaker promised to keep using community-led projects to improve daily welfare. As the Oyo State 2027 general election approaches, his team plans to tour all nine local government areas to build a strong grassroots network capable of winning the seat.
