In fulfilment of his promise to deliver tangible dividends of representation, Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Olajide (Odidiomo) has rolled out a series of newly completed constituency projects valued at over ₦1 billion across the Oyo South senatorial district. The interventions span education, digital technology, clean water supply, healthcare, and broad community development.

The extensive rollout reinforces Odidiomo’s growing reputation for translating political representation into visible, measurable benefits. The flagship interventions feature 10 digital learning centres in secondary schools, multiple community borehole installations, an advanced ICT hub, and a planned 50-bed health facility.

Strategic Investments in Digital Learning Centres and Youth Development

A statement released by Tolu Mustapha, Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs to Hon. Olajide, highlighted that these interventions demonstrate the lawmaker’s commitment to expanding access to opportunities through targeted constituency development.

A major focus of the scheme is the establishment of 10 digital learning centres across secondary schools in Ibadan. These facilities aim to expose students to modern tools, strengthening technology-driven education across the region.

The beneficiary schools include:

According to the statement, these facilities serve as strategic investments against the backdrop of technology’s growing role in employment and skills acquisition. Odidiomo’s vision moves beyond conventional infrastructure by directly equipping young people with essential digital tools.

Speaking on the rationale behind the digital learning centres, Odidiomo, through his media aide, noted: “While others are busy in the market, I am busy building the future of your children.”

Addressing Core Needs: Clean Water and Healthcare Interventions

Beyond education, the constituency projects address fundamental living standards across the Oyo South senatorial district. The rollout includes completed borehole units in Ward 10 of Ido Local Government Area and Ward 9 of Ibadan South-West Local Government Area, including Imalefalafia in Oke-Ado and the Anfaani House/Ring Road axis.

These water projects focus directly on communities where access to clean potable water remains a pressing need, reducing reliance on unsafe local sources.

Furthermore, Hon. Olajide Odidiomo is expanding his healthcare and tech infrastructure. The turning of the sod for a 50-bed health centre in Ido Local Government Area is scheduled for the coming week.

Over ₦1bn Allocated to Transform Oyo South Senatorial District

The technology drive continues with the planned construction of an ICT centre at Bako in Ido Local Government Area. Meanwhile, another major ICT project nearing completion at Anfaani is valued at over ₦200 million.

Mustapha emphasized that the Anfaani project reflects the scope of Hon. Adedeji Olajide Odidiomo’s vision for digital inclusion, youth empowerment, and technical training. Combined, the completed, ongoing, and planned projects exceed ₦1 billion in total value.

He explained that these schemes operate as an interconnected framework designed to elevate living standards across education, healthcare, and economic opportunity. They confirm that representation must deliver functional benefits rather than mere legislative presence.

To ensure long-term functionality, a special committee audited earlier interventions facilitated by Odidiomo. This evaluation prevents infrastructure from becoming underutilised or abandoned.

“The essence of representation is impact. It is about identifying the needs of the people, deploying resources strategically and ensuring that the benefits get directly to the communities,” Mustapha said.

Looking ahead, the development agenda will reach beyond central Ibadan into rural communities, including Ibarapaland. As he prepares to contest the seat in the 2027 general election, Odidiomo’s experience continues to shape his agenda for infrastructure and public well-being across the district.
