The national coordinator of the Yoruba Mandate Group, Akogun Banji Ojo, has urged the Yoruba presidential aspirants in the APC to pave way for the emergence of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu through consensus and form a formidable force to enhance unity as a bid to give room for a successful transition of power to South-West Nigeria.

According to Ojo, the group’s primary purpose is to mediate peace and promote unity within the Yoruba race as a response to answer the needs of growth and development through collective responsibilities in areas of culture, politics and economics.

“In the name of Oduduwa and spirit of unity, we seek to appeal to all aspirants of Yoruba origin within the APC to settle all their grievances to give room for the emergence of a reputable leader like Tinubu. The lack of unity has caused serious damage to the progress of the Yoruba people in Nigeria.

“There are instances where progressive leaders of Yoruba origin failed, due to lack of respect to true value leadership. The cases of Chief Obafemi Awolowo and Chief MKO Abiola are typical examples of Oduduwa children and true leaders with solid principles of Yoruba origin that failed to emerge as president.

He also noted that “Kayode Fayemi, Ibikunle Amosun and Prof. Yemi Osinbanjo are protegees of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu School of political thought, and they all benefitted from the principles, philosophy and doctrines at different levels and capacities. In this light, they should allow due protocols and processes to take place for the interest of the Yoruba race, and Nigeria at large.

“This is the time the Yoruba race has to be conscious of the benefits attached to unity, especially in a case where there is a credible leader like Tinubu, who has proven his unmatchable worth as a leader of note and emulation,” he concluded.
