The Shafaudeen in Islam Worldwide recently received a significant leap when, on Thursday, 5th January 2023, the Chief Imam of Iwoland, Alhaji Fatai Obelawo Olododo, officially incorporated the Iwo Branch of the Islamic group into the Osun State Council of Imams and Alfas.
He made the pronouncement when the Founder, Spiritual Head, and Grand Imam of Shafaudeen in Islam Worldwide paid him a courtesy visit in Iwo.
While speaking at the meeting, which had all the Council Members of the Chief Imam in attendance, Alhaji Olododo commended the Iwo branch of Shafaudeen for being a formidable branch of the organisation and claimed that the humility and consistency of their founder, Prof. Sabit Ariyo Olagoke JP, remain reasons why the Islamic sect is waxing stronger.
In his response, the Founder, Spiritual Head, and Grand Imam of Shafaudeen, Prof. Sabit Ariyo Olagoke, stated that Iwo Land has since been the best in the practice of Islam and that the visit was significant because the present Olubadan of Ibadan Land is from Iwo Land.
Prof. Olagoke, while praying for Iwo Land, also called on religious leaders to follow the Holy Books to not lead their followers astray and to educate their congregation on why they should participate in the coming elections to elect credible leaders, especially the Muslims of note.
“I used this opportunity to commend the Iwo branch of Shafaudeen In Islam because if they have spoilt our name, we will not be incorporated into the League of Imams and Alfas”.
However, Prof. Olagoke pledges to ensure that the Shafaudeen and other members of the League work together to promote Islam.
Before the visit, Prof. Olagoke visited the Wings College owned by Prof. Daud Lai Olurode, where the two professors pledged to work together to further boost education among Muslims and the world at large.
Prof. Lai Olurode, while welcoming Prof. Olagoke to the college, indicated how elated he was to have seen someone he had known and heard on Radio and Television, including newspapers, for many years.
“I am happy to receive you today. I have been reading, watching and listening to you for so long, and I am happy to be associated with you”.
Prof. Olagoke, however, donated some of his books to the college library.
