Out of the 800 national and international graduate students at the Russian State Hydrometeorological University, a talented Ghanaian, Abdul-Kadir Ameyaw, emerged as the best-graduating student.
His remarkable grade point average of 5.00 earned him a degree from the university.
Abdul-Kadir Ameyaw, a native of Ghana, earned a flawless 5.00 over 5.00 first-class mark while earning his bachelor’s degree in economics at the Russian State Hydrometeorological University.
The brilliant Ghanaian student has always excelled in the classroom, even as a young child. He received a scholarship from the Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study Programme for his outstanding high school grades.
Abdul-Kadir attended the University of Ghana for his bachelor’s degree after completing high school, but he left before finishing his second year to study in Russia.
With the assistance of the Ghana-Russia Bilateral Scholarship, Abdul Kadir transferred to the Russian State Hydrometeorological University. He talked about the difficulties he had studying the Russian language when he initially started at the institution.
Because we were placed in the same class as Russians and the lecturers never slowed down, the first year was the hardest. In the lectures, I hardly comprehended anything,” Abdul-Kadir recounted.
