The League of Council Aspirants of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Ibadan South-West Local Government, under the leadership of Hon. Sunday Adeleke, has celebrated the 65th birthday of renowned Oyo State politician and grassroots leader, Chief Adebisi Olopoeyan, describing him as a man of “timber and calibre” whose contributions to politics and society continue to inspire many across Nigeria.
The council aspirants made the commendation during a lively birthday celebration held recently at Chief Olopoeyan’s residence in Bashorun, Ibadan, where they joined family members, political associates, friends, and well-wishers to mark the significant milestone.

Speaking on behalf of the aspirants, Hon. Sunday Adeleke stated that Chief Olopoeyan’s 65th birthday was not merely an occasion to celebrate his age but also a vital opportunity to recognise his years of service, leadership, and contributions to the Oyo State political development.

“Looking at the personality of Baba Olopoeyan, it is clear that he has become a beacon of hope to many of us. We cannot underestimate his prowess as a grassroots politician, and we must continue to respect such a great voice in Oyo State.”

“Baba Olopoeyan symbolises what a man of timber and calibre represents. He remains a testament to the power of the people’s voice, and this is evident in his contributions to humanity and society.
“His journey over the years has demonstrated that political leadership should be about service, mentorship, sacrifice and the ability to stand for the people, especially at the grassroots,” he added.
