Prince Kunle Musediq Adelakun Eruobodo has formally entered the race for the 2027 Oyo State governorship. Running under the All Progressives Congress (APC) platform, the aspirant unveiled a “Renewed Hope and Vision” agenda focused on transparency and social welfare.

The declaration took place on Wednesday at Methodist Primary School, Oke Adu. The event drew a significant crowd of party stalwarts, traditional rulers, and enthusiastic supporters from across the state.

A Divinely Ordained Project

During his address, Eruobodo described his ambition as a “divinely ordained project.” He introduced a policy framework titled People-Oriented Development (POD). This plan seeks to revitalise education, healthcare, agriculture, and security.

“Our mission is to place the people at the center of governance and ensure that every citizen enjoys the full dividends of democracy,” Adelakun said.

The aspirant committed to empowering women, youths, and small-scale entrepreneurs through dedicated financial support and skill-building schemes. To tackle food security, he promised to provide modern equipment and incentives for local farmers.

Infrastructure and Social Reform

Eruobodo’s roadmap includes a heavy focus on rural connectivity and road rehabilitation. He noted that his administration would use technology to ensure an accountable government.

A standout feature of his platform is the proposed Ministry of Social Welfare and Humanitarian Services. This body would support vulnerable groups and the elderly. On education, he pledged scholarships and subsidised tertiary tuition up to 200 level.

In the health sector, Eruobodo vowed to stop hospitals from rejecting emergency patients. He also paid tribute to traditional institutions, specifically the Olubadan of Ibadan land, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja. He promised to protect the independence of traditional rulers in preserving Yoruba culture.

A Call for Unity

The Ibadan North East native criticised “political opportunists” for the state’s current poverty levels. He urged a shift away from politics used for personal gain.

“Democracy must not be treated as a do-or-die affair,” he said, calling for collective responsibility.

Eruobodo also expressed strong support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, praising his national reform efforts. Drawing inspiration from icons like Chief Obafemi Awolowo and Senator Abiola Ajimobi, Eruobodo aims to restore Oyo’s “Pacesetter” status.

The programme concluded with a confident call for support, as Eruobodo looks ahead to the swearing-in on 29 May 2027.
