Led by the chairperson of the association, Mrs Adewunmi Ademiju, the Association emphasised the critical role that women journalists play in tourism promotion and their commitment to showcasing the rich cultural assets of Ekiti State.

“This visit aims to strengthen collaboration between the Bureau and women journalists in promoting tourism and cultural heritage in the state, Mrs. Ademiju noted.

“I am excited about the possibilities that lie ahead in our partnership. Women journalists are key stakeholders in our tourism agenda, and I believe that together we can create informative and engaging content that will attract both local and international visitors to our state,” Ojo-Lanre said.

He disclosed that women journalists hold the key to a better relationship between society and tourism sites, explaining that “women in journalism have a great matrimonial influence on husbands, and children who mostly patronise tourism sites.

Ojo-Lanre also discussed the Bureau’s ongoing projects, including efforts to develop eco-tourism, cultural festivals, and the promotion of local artisans.

The NAWOJ delegation pledged to use their platforms and networks to promote these initiatives, ensuring that the stories of Ekiti’s vibrant culture and heritage reach a wider audience, thereby positioning Ekiti State as a premier tourist destination in Nigeria. They discussed the modalities and ways to actualise this, including workshops, joint events, and outreach programs aimed at enhancing tourism awareness among the public.

On the NAWOJ Ekiti Chapter team were Funke Adelugba, Financial Secretary; Christy Ishola; Banke Fajuyi; Funmi Falae, Secretary, and Bolaji Blessing, a stakeholder. While the team from the Bureau included Barrister Adegboyega Morakinyo, Executive Secretary; Peculiar Ekiran, Special Assistant; Dolapo Ogunleye Adewumi, Tourism Officer, and two corps members, Bernard Udensi and Mariam Ajibola.
