The Oyo APC has resolved internal differences among aspirants who contested its recently concluded House of Assembly primary election. Party leaders urged all members to close ranks and build a unified front ahead of the 2027 general elections.

This reconciliation breakthrough was unveiled on Sunday during a stakeholders’ and press conference meeting held in Ibadan, Oyo State. At the gathering, the House of Assembly’s dedicated reconciliation committee presented its detailed report, highlighting extensive engagements with aggrieved aspirants and grassroots party stakeholders across all 32 state constituencies.

Presenting the communique on behalf of the panel, committee Co-Chairman Aare Bisoye Fagade said a clear majority of the participating candidates have shown commendable maturity. By agreeing to set aside personal grievances, these aspirants have pledged to work collectively for the party’s future growth and stability.

Alhaji Mufutau Adisa, who serves as Chairman of the panel alongside Fagade, attended the conference alongside several key committee members who helped facilitate the dialogue.

Beyond settling local disputes, the reconciled candidates formally pledged their unwavering support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid. Furthermore, they committed to delivering total electoral success for all party candidates contesting seats in the Senate, House of Representatives, and the State House of Assembly by 2027.

Reading directly from the official communique, the committee stated:

The majority of the aspirants who participated in the primary election, including those who purchased nomination forms and those who did not, have demonstrated commendable sportsmanship, maturity and commitment to the unity of the party.

“They have expressed their readiness to work harmoniously with one another and with the leadership of the party towards securing electoral victory for the APC in Oyo State in the 2027 general elections.”

The committee praised the party contenders for prioritising the collective interest over individual political ambitions. Members and local executives across the state were similarly advised to reject internal division and channel their energies into solidifying the party structure.

Reconciled Aspirants Pledge Full Alignment for the 2027 General Elections

Speaking on behalf of the reconciled group, AbdulRamon Olaiya confirmed their total commitment to strengthening party structures at every level. He noted that the structured mediation provided a fair platform to resolve lingering friction and redirect focus toward upcoming electoral battles.

Olaiya reassured party leadership that the aspirants would actively back every nominated candidate, ensuring the party maintains absolute dominance across Oyo State.

Addressing the gathering, the governorship candidate for the Oyo APC, Sharafadeen Alli, reassured the aspirants that their loyalty and contributions to the party structure would be fully recognised. Alli pledged to operate an open-door, inclusive administration that ensures every dedicated stakeholder is carried along if the party triumphs at the polls.

Sharafadeen Alli stated, “You are all going to be carried along in our activities. Let’s work in unity and ensure that we get to power in the 2027 election.”

Party Leaders Emphasise Solidarity Ahead of 2027

Other prominent leaders underscored the necessity of sustained harmony. Senator Olufemi Lanlehin, Co-Chairman of the gubernatorial reconciliation committee, urged all factions to leave past disagreements behind and focus entirely on constructing a robust electoral machine capable of securing total victory.

Adding his voice to the call for solidarity, fellow gubernatorial panel Co-Chairman Prof. Taoreed Adedoja reminded stakeholders that party success relies entirely on selfless cooperation.

The reconciliation panel—led by Alhaji Mufutau Adisa with Aare Bisoye Fagade as Co-Chairman and Barrister Dr Rotimi Okeowo as Secretary—comprises several prominent party figures. The membership includes Mrs Mabel Williams, Pa Sule Ajibade, Hon. Ramota Okemakinde, Hon. Raji Rasaki, Hon. Obatunde Oladapo, Hon. Kehinde Oloya, Hon. Segun Ajanaku, Hon. Shakiru Fagunwa, and Dr Gafar Salawudeen.

Having successfully engaged participants across all 32 State House of Assembly constituencies, the panel expressed firm confidence that this renewed internal unity will pave the way for resounding success in 2027.
