The Oyo State Ministry of Culture and Tourism has joined forces with Capricorn Concierge Tourism Services to launch a new drive focused on Oyo State domestic tourism.
This scheme aims to recruit and train the core team that will run the Nigeria Domestic Tourism Club across schools in the state. By focusing on grassroots engagement, the project will give local youth practical skills to help them build long-term careers in a growing industry.
Oyo State Domestic Tourism: Career Growth via Capricorn Concierge Tourism Training
The initiative focuses heavily on youth employment and capacity building. Speaking on the launch, the Convener and Chief Executive Officer of Capricorn Concierge Tourism Services, Ibitayo Araoye, said registration began on July 6, 2026, and will close on August 3, 2026.
The organisers intend to use this window to attract dedicated candidates who want to build a career in travel and hospitality. According to organisers, interested participants are required to pay a ₦10,000 registration fee to secure their slot.
Full Scholarships From Oyo State Ministry of Culture and Tourism
To make the programme accessible, the state government has stepped in with significant financial backing. Araoye added that Ibadan residents who complete the registration process will benefit from a 100 per cent scholarship for the Advanced Empowerment Training (courtesy of Oyo State Ministry of Culture and Tourism).
This funding ensures that financial constraints will not stop qualified local talent from gaining useful industry skills. After finishing the initial online forms, applicants are expected to complete their physical registration at the Oyo State Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Oyo State Secretariat, Ibadan, after the online registration.
This physical verification step ensures all applicant details are correct before classes start.
Virtual Reality and Post-Training Support
The scheme looks beyond basic classroom theory to offer real economic independence. He explained that the programme is aimed at promoting domestic tourism while creating stable employment and responsible entrepreneurial opportunities for participants.
Rather than leaving graduates to navigate the job market alone, the organisers have structured a clear support pathway. Araoye said beneficiaries would enjoy several post-training benefits, including responsible job opportunities, regular income, earnings during the training period, empowerment through virtual reality tourism technology, equal opportunities, career advancement, gifts and incentives, and certification.

The programme is powered by Capricorn Concierge Tourism Services Ltd in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy and in partnership with the Oyo State Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Oyo State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.
