Akogun Banji Ojo, the general coordinator of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (ABAT) Diaspora, has called on all stakeholders, leaders and delegate of All Progressive Congress (APC) in South-West Nigeria to ensure the emergence of the group’s principal, Senator Bola Tinubu as the preferred candidate through consensus arrangement.
Ojo, in an online interactive session with journalists, said political consultations as regards consensus arrangement to produce a presidential aspirant from the region is a developmental call and a serious challenge for other presidential aspirants across the country, because our unity remains our most valuable weapon to lead the country.
He said, “The need to produce just a single presidential aspirant is a serious development, and due process has to be considered by the delegates from the region in ensuring ultimate victory at the final primary election. The failure to produce a credible candidate with unmatchable political successes would have a serious effect on APC of South West, and Nigeria at large.”
“The political history of each candidate must be one of the requirements to be considered, especially in a time when the South needs to be in power. Asiwaju Bola Tinubu remains the most credible candidate because has proven himself worthy as a leader, politician and economic strategist.
“The modern day Lagos is the practical description of his unmatchable record, not leaving behind the chain of successful politicians from his political school of thought”.
He added “Tinubu’s emergence as governor was the benchmark for the establishment of corporate governance in the history of Nigeria. It is to be noted that the financial engineering of Lagos state, that is the commercial center of the country, set the pace through the intervention of our principal. We are very hopeful that Tinubu will replicate what he did in Lagos”.
