DETERMINED to send the country’s oil mono economy to the doldrums, rampaging Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) have blown up crude oil pipelines in the Niger Delta.

Hinting the world on its Twitter handled, @ADVengers Thursday evening, the group said it had successfully blown up crude oil pipelines spanning Ogboinbiri, Tebidaba and Crough creek to Tebidaba.

“@NDAvengers: At about 2:00am today @NDAvengers blew up the Ogboinbiri to Tebidaba and Clough Creek to Tebidaba Crude Oil pipelines in Bayelsa State,” the lethal group twitted.

The group said the attack was in line with its promise to ground operations of oil companies in the region.

“This is inline with our promise to all international Oil companies and Indigenous Oil Companies that Nigeria Oil production will be Zero,” it stated in its Twitter which has been re-twitted hundreds of times.

However, the militant group did not mention owners of the crude pipeline.

The group, which had promised to shock the world with its activities after the expiration of the May 28 deadline given oil companies to quit operations in the region, has continued to make good its threat.

Just few hours ahead of the work visit of President Muhammadu Buhari to Ogoni land in Rivers State on Thursday to kick-off the Ogoni Clean project, the unrelenting members of the Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) blew up two Chevron oil wells in Delta State.

This was in spite of heavy military artillery deployed to the region, particularly in Gbaramatu kingdom and Souther Ijaw in Bayelsa State to curtail the activities of the lords of the creeks in the region.

The group is demanding a sovereign nation of the Niger Delta people, alleging a total neglect of the region.

The Avengers had rejected and derided a stakeholders’ meeting recently convened in Abuja by the federal government, warning of its readiness to carry out an attack that will “shock the whole world.”

According: “The Niger Delta stakeholder’s meeting is an insult to the people of Niger Delta. What we need is a Sovereign State not pipeline Contracts.”
