Oyo State Deputy Governor, Engr. Olaniyan has said the reactions he got during the death and burial of late Senator Abiola Ajimobi was not enough to get him angry.
Engr. Olaniyan, who spoke at his Ibadan home when the leadership of the South West Group of Online Publishers (SWEGOP), paid him a Sallah visit, emphasised that there is no disagreement between him and the former First Lady, Mrs Florence Ajimobi.
Recall that the deputy governor was been turned back from the Oluyole residence of late Ajimobi during his 8-day final prayers, just a few days after the former First Lady was taped castigating the Governor Seyi Makinde-led administration for not showing sympathy during the sickness and the eventual death of her husband.
His words: “I was not angry with Mrs Ajimobi and the family. I had no presentiment that such a thing would happen. But when you are going into politics, you must not forget to put the Omoluabi ethics in your bag. In fact, you must have had it before going in. You must know when to give respect. Load all the pockets in your outfit with patience also put it in your bag. I believe you can’t exhaust all the patience for the day.
“I charged my ADC and Chief details to keep their heads when others are losing theirs.”
The Deputy Governor revealed that Mrs Ajimobi has called him, adding that “I understand her, she was grieving, mourning the death of her husband. We don’t know the enormity of that grief.”
