It was a successful and glamorous event at the Felicia Hall, Jogor Centre, Liberty Road, Ibadan, when dignitaries across the country, including royal fathers and the crème de la crème in society, gathered together to celebrate music icon Michael Adedayo Omoshilade, popularly called Micho Ade.

The event started with the arrival of dignitaries such as Ambassador Yemi Farounbi, Otunba Sola Adewunmi, Dr Yinka Joel Ayefele and a host of others.

After the arrival of guests, the celebrant was ushered in, and his citation was read by the Queen of the red carpet, Fola Slim, followed by a stage performance for guests, while the Ayebola cultural group did a cultural display.

The chief of host of the occasion, Chairman and CEO of Fresh FM, Dr. Olayinka Ayefele (MON), expressed his joy to the guests for honouring Micho Ade’s invitation, giving thanks to God as the music icon celebrated 50 years on stage.

Ayefele, who disclosed that he started as a guitarist under the celebrant, said it was a thing of joy that Micho Ade was alive and not dead to see the day, lauded him for his creativity and perseverance and called some on some of the musicians present to help Micho Ade in getting better instruments to support his musical work.

On his part, the Chairman of the occasion, Otunba Sola Adewunmi, who cherished what he called ‘humility personified’ by Micho Ade, prayed that God should give him more strength to continue the good work he is doing in his musical career.

Similarly, the chairperson, Miss Bimbo Esho, gave thanks to God for the 50 years of stage celebration, stating that it was a lot of hard work for Micho Ade and a privilege to celebrate another icon.

The donation by Barrister Wale Ojo-Lanre was not announced, while Deaconess Akanni donated N100,000, and Kabiyesi Ayede Temidire launched the album with 100 dollars.

The King of World Beat, Omo’ba Sunday Adeniyi Adegeye (KSA), Witty Wale Thompson and Akin George had excellent stage performances, with Kabiyesi Ayede Temidire praising the great legend KSA for his good job and also praying for long life and grace to finish his great work on earth.
