Adanla Launches Ramadan Lecture In Honor Of Late Father, Maiden Edition Holds Wednesday

Adanla Launches Ramadan Lecture

As part of the initiatives to immortalise the memories of his late father, the CEO of Afia Construction & Building Engineering Consultancy Services Ltd., Engr. Abduljelyl Adekunle Karheem MCIArb, MCIOB, МСАВЕ, has announced the commencement of Alhaji Boladale Alade Adanla Annual Ramadan Lecture.

The maiden edition of the lecture will hold on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 between 12pm and 4pm, at Tutu Event Place, Opposite Ventura Mall, Samonda, Sango, Ibadan.

Sheikh Yunus Ayilara Taliat, the Chief Imam of Ogbomoso land, is the Guest Lecturer.

According to Engr. Karheem, who doubles as Turaki Adini of Oyo State and the Mogaji of Adanla Family, the annual lecture aims to promote community cohesion, spread correct religious knowledge, and build an enlightened awareness that reflects the principles of Islam.

This is coming a day after Late Alhaji Boladale Alade Adanla was buried, according to Islamic rites, at his residence, 28 Taiwo Street, Off Poly Road, Sango, Ibadan, Oyo State capital. Pa Adanla had passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2025 at the age of 97.

The Salat al-jinazah for the deceased was led by the Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Sheikh Abdul-Ganiyy AbuBakr Agbotomokekere.

Agbotomokekere, in a short sermon after the burial, described the deceased as a blessed man before Allah, having being privileged to die during the Holy month of Ramadan.

Extolling the virtues of humility and godliness of the deceased, the renowned Islamic leader described death as no respecter of anybody irrespective of age, status or background. He prayed for Allah to repose the soul of Pa Abdulkarheem, and bless and protect everything he left behind.

The burial had in attendance top Islamic scholars, corporate gurus as well high flying politicians and celebrities. They all rallied around Eng. Karheem, the Turaki Adini of Oyo State and the Mogaji of Adanla Family and his siblings.

Some of the dignitaries who graced the occasion included Alhaji Trimisiyu Hussain; the Babalola of Oyo State, Alhaji Y.K. Abass; Governor Seyi Makinde’s right hand man, Otunba Seye Famojuro; Sheikh Sani Auwal; Alhaji Alao Lateef; Mogaji Abass Oloko; Alhaji Mutiu Oladeji (Onimalu), the Asiwaju Adini of Oyo State; Alhaja Modinat Orieru; Engr. Akeem Olatunji, the Chairman of Oluyole Local Government, among others.

Meanwhile, Adanla has used the occasion of the announcement of the annual lecture in honor of late father to also appreciate those who couldn’t make it to the burial but had reached out to him.

They include the executive governor of Oyo State, Engr. ‘Seyi Makinde; Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Senator Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja; former First Lady of the state, Alhaja Mutiat Olayinka Ladoja, the deputy governor of the state, Barrister Bayo Lawal; the Agba Oye of Ibadanland and Chairman Shoreline Ltd, Oloye Kola Karim, and the former minister of communication, Barrister Bayo Shitu.

Also on the list are Barrister Hamed Bayo Raji SAN (Turaki of Oke Ogun); the Hon Commissioner for Lands and Urban Planning, Hon. Williams Akinfunmilayo; Senator Soji Akanbi and his wife; Hon. Dhikrulahi Stanley Olajide, the lawmaker representing Ibadan Southwest and Northwest; Alhaji Tunde Ologburo and the Onpetu of Ijeruland, Oba Sunday Oladapo Oyediran.

We also have the likes of the Chief Imam of Offaland; the Chief Imam of Ogbomoso; the Chairman of Oyo State Housing Corporation; Hon. Demola Omotosho; Hon. Fadeyi, and the Deputy Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly.
