Bashorun Akinwale Akinwole, Chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Service Commission (LGSC), has commended Dr. Debo Akande, Director-General of the Oyo State Agribusiness Development Agency (OYSADA), for his exceptional contributions to Governor Seyi Makinde’s vision for transforming the state’s agricultural sector.

Akinwole made the commendation during his address at the Oyo State International Agribusiness Summit 2025, held at the International Institute for Tropical Agriculture (IITA) in Ibadan. The summit, themed “Expanding Oyo State’s Economy through Agricultural Industrialisation,” brought together key stakeholders, investors, development partners, and policymakers to discuss the future of agribusiness in the state.

The LGSC Chairman highlighted Dr. Akande’s consistent demonstration of leadership and innovation in repositioning agriculture as a major driver of economic growth and youth empowerment. He noted that OYSADA’s strategic reforms have demonstrably boosted agricultural productivity, strengthened value chains, and attracted significant investment to the state.

“Dr. Akande has consistently shown outstanding leadership in aligning agriculture with Governor Makinde’s ambitious agenda,” Akinwole stated.

“OYSADA’s achievements directly reflect the Governor’s commitment to industrializing agriculture, enhancing food security, and creating sustainable job opportunities across all 33 local government areas. Their approach is pivotal to the state’s long-term economic development.”

Akinwole also praised the Agribusiness Summit for showcasing Oyo State’s readiness for agribusiness expansion and global partnerships. He reaffirmed the LGSC’s support for ongoing reforms and expressed optimism that the agricultural industrialisation agenda would continue to transform the state’s economy, leading to a brighter future for the people of Oyo State. The summit is widely regarded as a significant step towards realizing the state’s potential in the agribusiness sector, and the positive feedback received by the organizers reinforces the commitment to continued growth and development.
