Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has declared that he will embark on a vigorous nationwide campaign to seek the support of citizens for his Seyi Makinde 2027 presidential ambition. Running as the Allied Peoples Movement APM candidate in the emerging political realignment ahead of the 2027 general elections, the governor made the bold declaration on Saturday while addressing guests shortly after receiving a prominent chieftaincy title. Speaking in Eruwa, Makinde stressed that his political platform and vision for effective governance will reach every corner of the country.
The colourful ceremony, which attracted traditional rulers, political leaders, government officials, and other dignitaries, took place at the newly commissioned palace of the Eleruwa of Eruwa. The high-profile event provided a vibrant backdrop for the state’s chief executive to set out his broader political vision.
Launching the Seyi Makinde 2027 Presidential Ambition Across Nigeria
Speaking after receiving the traditional honour, Makinde said his aspiration to lead Nigeria would not be confined to any particular region, stressing that he was prepared to take his message of good governance and development to Nigerians across the country.
He said his presidential bid would require him to engage extensively with the people and present his vision for a better Nigeria to citizens in different parts of the country.
The governor, who is running on the platform of Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in the emerging political realignment ahead of the 2027 general elections, said he was ready to traverse the length and breadth of Nigeria in pursuit of his ambition.

Honoured with the Aare Asoludero of Ibarapaland Title
Makinde made the declaration on Saturday while addressing guests shortly after he was conferred with the chieftaincy title of Aare Asoludero of Ibarapaland.
Makinde expressed appreciation to the Eleruwa and the people of Ibarapaland for the honour, describing the conferment of the title as a recognition that came with responsibility.
He said the honour would further strengthen his commitment to serving the people and contributing to the development of the country.
The governor also used the occasion to appreciate the traditional institution for its support and prayers, assuring that he would continue to uphold the values of service, unity and development.
The ceremony also featured the commissioning of the newly completed palace of the Eleruwa of Eruwa, providing a fitting backdrop for the conferment of the prestigious title on the governor.
