His Royal Majesty, Oba Adesanya Aladejare, Agunloye III, the Alaaye of Efon, has commended the Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, for his unwavering commitment to tourism development in the state, particularly in Efon Alaaye Kingdom.

Speaking while receiving the Director General of the Ekiti State Bureau of Tourism Development, Barrister Wale Ojo-Lanre, and the Discover Ekiti Team at his palace, Oba Aladejare expressed gratitude to Governor Oyebanji for responding promptly to the aspirations of the people of Efon regarding the enhancement of the kingdom’s tourism potential.

The revered monarch lauded the Governor as a leader of integrity, a promise-keeper whose words translate into action. He acknowledged the Governor’s political inclusiveness and developmental strides in Efon Alaaye Kingdom, noting that his administration has not sidelined the community in both political appointments and infrastructural development.

Furthermore, Oba Aladejare praised Barrister Wale Ojo-Lanre for his dedication and passion in advancing the state’s tourism vision, as directed by Governor Oyebanji.

He assured the visiting team of his full support in mobilizing the people of Efon Alaaye to ensure the success of the upcoming Hike and Dine in the Clouds event.

According to him, this initiative is not only an opportunity to showcase the natural wonders of Efon but also a strategic move to attract more tourists and investment into the kingdom.

Reinforcing the Alaaye’s commitment, Dr. (Mrs.) Bose Olubo Adegeye, a proud indigene of Efon and a member of the Hike and Dine in the Clouds planning committee, emphasized that the people of Efon are fully in support of all tourism initiatives spearheaded by the state government.

She stated that her visit to Efon was to conduct a pre-tour of Mount of Clouds and to affirm the readiness of Efon indigenes to drive tourism development in the area.

In his response, Barrister Wale Ojo-Lanre expressed gratitude to Oba Aladejare and the people of Efon Alaaye for their enthusiastic support of Governor Oyebanji’s tourism agenda.

He revealed that the Governor has given a marching order to not only promote and enhance the beauty of Mount of Clouds but also to develop other tourism sites in the kingdom.

Barrister Ojo-Lanre further informed the monarch of the Hike and Dine in the Clouds event scheduled for Monday, April 21, 2025 (Easter Monday), emphasizing that the program will significantly elevate the profile of Efon Alaaye Kingdom.

He urged the community to prepare to welcome over 5,000 tourists, who will experience the rich culture, traditional cuisine, and artistic heritage of Efon.

The Hike and Dine in the Clouds initiative is set to position Efon Alaaye as a prime tourism destination, aligning with Governor Oyebanji’s vision for sustainable tourism development in Ekiti State.
