The Ibadan-based celebrity Disc Jockey, DJ Maskhot with the name Ayokunle Adefuye, has revealed that Spotlight, as learning platform in the craft of disc jockeying, set to engage top notch and professional disc jockeys in critical and quality discussion on how they create magic and mind blowing performances.
In an interactive session with Team Report African Newspaper, DJ Maskhot reveals that Spotlight primarily aims at uncovering the untold stories of celebrity Disc Jockeys and equally focuses as a platform to showcase the up and coming disc jockeys in the industry.
According to him, “Disc Jockeying, as an art and craft in its own right, has relatively low media focus and attention given to that sector of entertainment. This has affected the growth and development of that sector of entertainment because the general public does not have enough knowledge about the arts and artists in the sector. This is the vacuum Spotlight aims to fill with contents from the horses’ mouths.
“Spotlight also serves as a platform where up and coming disc jockeys can learn from the experiences of those at the top of the game in the craft of disc jockeying. It is also to be observed that Spotlight is a voice to treading issues roving in the entertainment industry.
“The dream comes into existence as need to redefine the narrative of music in the world of disc jockeying, because the world hardly know the untold and true story behind this fasting raising entertainment sector. It is important to note that the content will be available online, it will also be aired on radio.
